I use lip balm. But, whenever my lips heal, it seems as if they immediately get chapped again. What can I do to prevent constantly chapped lips?
I used to have the same problem for a long time. I tried a lot of different things that didn't work. Surprisingly, it was applying Vaseline regularly that did the magic. Now I never have chapped lips and it costs only 99 cents for a small bottle! What can I do to prevent constantly chapped lips?
Water!! It does wonders. I haven't drank a glass of water in about 3 months seriously, and then 3 days ago I had water. It tasted great after not drinking it, and then I noticed that my lips are seriously smooth and that was just after 3 days.
Personally I find Carmex works the best..I always feel that I have extremely chapped lips. I put on the carmex and it feels like it works right away, I like the other person suggested, put it on at nite before I go to bed. Carma Labs, producer of Carmex, recently received the 2005 Achievement Award from Pharmacy Times magazine. This is the seventh year in a row that Carmex ranked highest in a survey of over-the-counter lip balms recommended by pharmacists across the nation.

I use Blistex DCT. It's sold in drug stores and stores such as Walmart. Costs a few bucks. I put it in my lips at night before bed. Also, when I'm home during the days/evenings.
I just googled it for ya:
Blistex DCT (Daily Conditioning Treatment for Lips) combines moisturizers, vitamins and protectants to provide a daily maintenance regimen for your lips.
DCT keeps your lips in perfect conditions every day of the year, in all climates, through all activities.
Smooth %26amp; Supple Lips: DCT nurtures your lips with two proven moisturizers, Aloe Vera and Cocoa Butter, plus Vitamins A%26amp;E. DCT softens and smoothes the surface of lips to help them look and feel young. DCT helps to prevent and replenish moisture-starved cells that can occur from daily exposure to dry air and other environmental conditions.
Sun Protection: PABA-free DCT provides SPF 20 protection, which is recommended even for people who burn easily and tan minimally. DCT also provides protection for at least 80 minutes when in water. Remember, LIPS DON'T TAN, BUT THEY DO BURN
I'm a lip balm fanatic. Carry lip balm at all times! I apply it before I go to bed each night and in the morning my lips are SMOOOOOTH!

Whenever I put lip balm on my extremely [emphasis]chapped lips, it only works for like an hour or so and then they dries out again while leaving a white ';gunk'; on them. Not a solution. This only seems to happen to me in the winter, but it's really been pissing me off lately as well as embarrasing me. It looks gross. So I started really chugging the water lately whenvever I get a chance, for like the past 3 days, and it's shown some real improvement. Another thing I did was started applying olive oil to my lips whenever they start to get peely, and it works better than vaseline or regular lip balm. The harding habit to break is to not lick your lips 'cause it messes it up even more, but it pays off to stop. I wanna thank you guys for the tip about the Blistex DCT stuff, I'm gonna try that out too. I also heard hydrocortisone works. :)
