I like Blistek, (green tube). It goes on more smoothly than Chapstick and seems to be more effective.
Try Carmex.
Vasoline, blistix, neosporin, bag balm especially put on before bed.
Neosporin, Burt's Bee's
You've probably heard this before. Drink lots of water and keep yourself very well-hydrated in addition to using a moisturizing lip balm.

The Muse
I find vaseline's the best (you can get it in tiny little tubs). It just looks like clear lip gloss when you put it on.
Bag Balm works well for me.

I have had extremely chapped lips for two weeks and Ive never had this problem before, when will they heal?

My lips are red and swollen. They burn constantly and I have to constantly put blistex on every half an hour or else they start to bleed and crack. There is also a clear liquid that secretes out of my lips. I am miserable, how can I help my lips heal?I have had extremely chapped lips for two weeks and Ive never had this problem before, when will they heal?
i belive you should go to the doctor and get it checked out then ask a question on here about your chapped lips.I have had extremely chapped lips for two weeks and Ive never had this problem before, when will they heal?
use antibactirial ointment on them at night, and during the day try and use as little as possible of the walgreens brand medicated cold sore cream. it's in a yellow tube with a red cap it looks like carmax and it tastes and smells like crap!. but It works great!

P.S. your getting that clear liquid because it's infected.
gey some vitamin b tablets from any supermartket or pharmacy and this will help them heal....i dont eat very well so i get chapped lips and i take those and they heal straight away

How to treat severely chapped lips?

Hey guys. I've had chapped lips for about two years now and have tried about everything to treat them. About a year ago, a red line formed under my lower lip because they were so dry. When I was little blistex used to work really well, but now it seems useless. I know everyone says that it is supposed to work...but it doesn't seem to do the trick for me. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks. How to treat severely chapped lips?
the most classic lip remedy is probably vaseline petroleum jelly. also, to get rid of the dead skin, try the CO/Bigelow lip buffer, which has really moisturizing oils and exfoliates at the same time. Try to use lip balm regularly, and if your lips are that dry, try one with SPF, to protect you from the sun. Avoid licking your lips, which will just make them drier. Good luck! How to treat severely chapped lips?
Buy a thing of vasaline and apply on about 2 or 3 times a day. It really works and my brother and sister lips aren't chapped anymore!! Good Luck! I know chapped lips are a pain. :)
Burts beeswax, and vaseline if it gets too intense go to a dermatologist or something.

Good luck! : )

How do I get rid of chapped lips?

I used petroleum jelly, shea butter, cocoa butter, carmex, blistex, and tea tree oil but nothing works. I had chapped lips since the day I was born. How do I get rid of chapped lips?
blistex is my favorite! just keep reapplying it all day long! drink water and take vitamins. my lips get chapped worse if i'm dehydratedHow do I get rid of chapped lips?
do you drink enough water daily? if you don't, that's probably the problem. i am surprised petroleum jelly didn't work for you, it always works for my chapped lips. try putting a lot (and I mean A LOT) of petroleum jelly on your lips right before you sleep, that always works for me. your lips might seem thicker in the morning but that's just the healing process.
My lips get really chapped every once in a while and here's what I do to help heal them. I use Chap Stick Overnight lip treatment at night. I use Chap Stick Moisturizer brand during the day. They really work for me. They also contain aloe vera, vitamin e, and have sunscreen. In the morning I usually exfoliate my lips to remove the dead skin cells with a sugar based exfoliator like St. Ives Sugar Scrub. Then I add the chap stick. If you keep at it they should heal in about 2 to 3 days. Then continue to prevent the problem. Good luck.
There are things that cause chapped lips but unusual you've always have that problem. Do you live in a dry windy area? If so that must have a lot to do with it. Be sure to drink 3 quarts of water a day, the clean filtered kind. If you have too much salt or acid in your system, that might help cause the problem too. Are you addicted to salty foods? Use lip balm is all I know of besides this. I think that's the best because it was made especially for this problem.
Since the day you were born???....harsh. When I've had the worst chapped lips ever original medicated Blistex in the squeeze tube supplies ';instant'; relief. No other product even comes close. I don;t know how it does it...but it works instantly. Don't get the yellow paste can ...get the white oringinal squeeze tube....it's a god send...beleive me.
drink plenty of fluids especially water, fruit juices, coconut.

apply butter on your lips before going to bed and early in the morning.

If you had chapped lips from birth then apply coconut oil instead of butter.

coconut oil has healing properties.
This may seem weird but i do this all the time......

get some water and salt and mix then together, then get a face towel and dip it in the mixture, then scrub the dead skin off.
try this:

1. apply lip balm

2. take a clean toothbrush and brush your lips

3. wash your lips

4. reapply lip balm

do this every day
drink water and use oil on your lips only! or chap stick or neosporin.

I have really chapped lips but chapstick makes me brake out, why? and are there alternatives?

help, my lips are really chapped. but i brake out. serious.I have really chapped lips but chapstick makes me brake out, why? and are there alternatives?
Artistry has a Lip Care Kit that works amazing. It's safe for people with sensitive skin/lips and should not make you break out. If for some reason it would it's no big deal because they have a 100% money back guarentee if you aren't happy with their products for any reason. I suffered from extremely dry lips too and this did wonders. My lips feel great when I use this. You can't buy their products in stores but you can get it at http://www.adrennan.qhealthbeauty.com Just put Lip Care in the search box and it should come up. I hope this helped to answer your question :)I have really chapped lips but chapstick makes me brake out, why? and are there alternatives?
Vaseline works for me. Your lips will stay hydrated for a while.
Use vaseline or petrolium jelly.
try a balm that is all natural like the beeswax brands. it is much milder and you probably won't break out
Carmax or vaseline
I have a friend that uses Vaseline... she swears by it.
Carmex
Try liquid chapstick like the Aquafina kind. That's the one I use but, it's about $4 for a tube, but it's worth it. Because I find my lips constantly remaining chapped as well.
I use BeautiControl lip apeel. It is a combination exfoliator and lip moisturizer. It provides unique therapy that helps minimize the appearance of unwanted vertical lines and laugh lines around the lips and keep lips moisturized. One set comes with the exfoliator and the lip balm in one package. You can order it online at this web site: www.beautipage.com/malorifulgham Then go to shop now!%26gt;skin care%26gt;lip care. You could also try the Lip Balm by itself in a tub or in a stick form. The stick form has SPF 20.
Cocoa butter works like a charm! I use it instead of chapstick because it soothes my lips much more. I recommend Palmers brand.
I would try ';Lip Vitamins'; you can get it at Kmart and Walmart. There is an exfoliator you use in the mornings and throughout the day as you need it. It helps rub of the chapped-ness. There is a lip balm you use after you exfoliate and also as you need it. Then, there's a night time cream you put on your lips to help hydrate them as you sleep. I use this and it works amazingly!
My best answer to you is to use some carmex. it comes in a yellow and red small squeeze tube. to works great. i use it myself.
vaseline!
carmex works really good

Have you ever heard of Chapstick or Carmex? Works like a charm.
I was wondering if you had thrush?!

Go see your doctor about it, as you have had it for a long time.

B Group vitamins should help too.

What should I do about chapped lips?

I have been getting chapped and dry lips really frequently. I have tried almost every kind of balm and chapstick (including Blistex). Please help me!!! It is interfering with my life since it gets dry and chapped like every 2 hours after appyling something. What should I do?What should I do about chapped lips?
I've had major problems with this as well. Chapstick and other similar products are addictive. They actually make your lips dryer in the end! Use Carmex lip balm. You can find it at Wal-mart and probably any pharmacy. You only have to use it once or twice a day, and your lips stay soft throughout the day. It's got plain yellow packaging and is not very pretty looking, but it's good, trust me!What should I do about chapped lips?
You just have to keep them moisturized. I can't go one day let alone hours without something like some lip gloss or chapstick on my lips. Another thing is not to lick them because it will make them drier... Just keep on using your chapstick, and when you're at home use vaseline on your lips.. i know it sounds ghetto, but it will help keep them moisturized because it's not as thick and balmy as well... I don't know if you're a boy or girl, but you can use clear lip gloss if you're not the type to wear lipstick or colored glosses. neutrogena has a clear lipgloss, and it's kinda pricy but it works...
exfoliate them. I know that BeautiControl makes this stuff LipApeel that works awesome, but a toothbrush and some petroleum/baking soda paste will work also. Scrub them GENTLY, rinse, Apply some olive oil on the lips and do so often. Before bed, rub on a generous amt. of petroleum jelly.Drink more water and less soda.
there is this stuff you can get in a little jar (carmex size) that is actually made for cracked skin on your feet that works really well as a deep penetrating lib balm. It is very thick and no matter how much you lick your lips it does not come off. I think it is called Crack Cream and can be bought at Wal-Mart. My sons and I apply it 2-3 times a day and we havent had chapped lips all winter where before our lips were so dry they cracked and bled
I've noticed that I get chapped lips fairly quickly whenever I travel, so I always carry some kind of chapstick with me, applying it liberally and often (every 30 minutes to 2 hours, as needed) as soon as I notice any signs of chapped lips.

I finally figured out that the CAUSE was that I was drinking far fewer fluids (primarily water) when I traveled. Try to increase -- rather than simply maintaining -- the amount of water and other fluids that you drink. Applying any lip balm that will seal in the water will then be able to work MUCH better.
Do aerobics each day. Get the blood flowing better. The chapping will go away.
Naturally obtained Prostaglandin F2 alpha and Prostaglandin E in a fructose and protein mixture. See the link. Apply everynight and as needed.
dont use chapsticks. use blistex. it helps a lot. out it on every 30 minutes for a day atleast.
Take a dry toothbrush and gently move along lips...this will get rid of dead skin. Try Blistex again after doing this...
I also get chapped lips all the time. What I do is drink loads of fluids and apply blistex/chapstick( which one I have at the moment) frequently.
    try neosporin lip treatment
continue using a good lip balm with sunscreen or neosporin. drink more water.
I find that vaseline works great. Try to avoid sticky, cheap, ';gloopy'; lipglosses with heavy flavours or scents. And no matter how much you are tempted, try not to keep licking your lips, this will dry them out even more!
drinking lots of water also helps, keeps you hydrated
